A TNA Wrestling star has declared their retirement from the independent scene ahead of their reported contract expiration.
At the November 17 Northern Crown Pro Wrestling event in Toronto, TNA Wrestling star Josh Alexander shocked fans with the announcement of his departure from the independent scene.
After his main event match, Alexander addressed the audience, stating:
“You won’t see me here on the independents anymore—maybe some special appearances here and there, if possible. I need to figure it all out.
“But what you will see is the next wave, the next group of talent. I personally selected Vaughn Vertigo and Gabriel Fuerza as the two I would work with before leaving the independents. People often call me a leader in this country, for better or worse.
“I’ve seen all the negativity people post on Twitter. I’ve been discussing things with my wife and kids. I’ve been grinding and hustling for 20 years. [Chants of “Thank you, Josh”.]
“No, thank you. Without you, I would never have gotten a contract renewal three years ago, earning more money than I ever did in construction. This allows me to support my family and keep a roof over our heads.
“I am grateful for fans like you who champion my hard work every weekend across this country. Thank you.”
