ROH Women’s World Champion Athena is set to make her highly anticipated debut in Stardom on January 3, just days before the massive Wrestle Dynasty event at the Tokyo Dome.
On January 5, during the co-produced show between NJPW, Stardom, AEW/ROH, and CMLL, Athena will compete in the International Women’s Cup final. In this multi-woman match, she will face Willow Nightingale, Persephone, and Momo Watanabe, with the winner earning a championship opportunity in the promotion of their choice.
Before that exciting clash, however, Athena has confirmed that she will be part of Stardom’s New Year Dream event on January 3, which will take place at the Tokyo Garden Center.
In a video posted on Stardom’s official Twitter account, Athena shared her excitement about the upcoming event, stating:
“I am the Forever ROH Champion, and on January 3, both I and my Forever Ring of Honor Championship will be in action for Stardom for the very first time.
“It’s going to be me and Thekla against two porcelain hussies. I’m super excited to be here because this is the tour, baby, and I’ve been waiting for this my whole life.”
At this moment, the identities of the “two porcelain hussies” remain a mystery.
Athena made history on December 10, 2022, when she became the ROH Women’s World Champion, and she continues to hold the title as the longest reigning champion in its history.
