With the announcement of a continued partnership with both TNT and TBS, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently addressed the potential of a roster split for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). During the pre-WrestleDream media call, Khan was asked about this concept, given the impressive array of talent on the AEW roster.
Khan acknowledged that the idea of a Tony Khan AEW roster split is intriguing and one he has given considerable thought. “It’s not a bad thought. It’s an interesting thought. I definitely have considered many iterations of roster management and still working on some really interesting things in terms of the future of AEW media and the future of the roster,” he explained.
However, he emphasized that it’s too early to make any definitive statements, especially as there are more developments expected regarding the new media deal. “It’s early to speculate on that frankly going into the new deal and what’s to come. But it’s a very interesting thought and to be honest I have reflected on it and thought about it,” Khan stated.
In addition to discussing the AEW media partnership with TNT and TBS, Khan also touched upon Daniel Garcia’s return to AEW television during the recent episode of AEW Dynamite. This discussion came on a rare Wednesday where the focus shifted to ‘Title Tuesday’ ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated WrestleDream pay-per-view event.
As AEW continues to grow and evolve, fans will be eager to see how Tony Khan’s considerations regarding AEW roster management and media partnerships will shape the future of the company. Stay tuned for more updates on AEW’s exciting developments.
