Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has offered an update regarding his participation in WWE WrestleMania 41, set to take place in Las Vegas next April.
After making a surprise return to WWE at Bad Blood last weekend, there had been strong anticipation for The Rock to compete at WrestleMania 41, following his in-ring appearance at WrestleMania 40. However, according to a recent report by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock is currently “not scheduled” to participate in Mania 41.
Meltzer indicated that a source informed him, “He’s not going to be able to do Mania. He already gave word that he wouldn’t be able to do that match.”
In response to these reports, The Rock took to social media to clarify his status. When a fan commented on his Instagram, asking, “Are you really not working Mania 41??? Say it ain’t so!” The Rock replied, “don’t believe any of that bulls**t 😉👊.”
Prior to the latest update, Meltzer had reported that there were plans for a match between The Rock and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, potentially for the Undisputed WWE Championship or The Rock’s People’s Championship. However, following the events of Bad Blood, speculation arose that his return could lead to a three-way match involving Rock, Rhodes, and Roman Reigns.
As the situation develops, we will keep fans informed of any further updates regarding The Rock’s status for WrestleMania 41.
