A current WWE NXT star has revealed the most crucial piece of advice he received from the iconic John Cena in anticipation of Cena’s much-anticipated return in 2025.
In an interview with Uncrowned, Trick Williams discussed some of the invaluable insights he gained from the WWE legend.
Reflecting on his discussions with Cena, Trick Williams emphasized that the most significant lesson he learned was the ability to both perform and listen simultaneously.
Williams remarked:
“We’ve had numerous conversations, but the most impactful thing I’ve taken away from him is the importance of being able to listen and perform at the same time.
“He understands what every sound signifies, how he should react, and respond to various situations. … I believe that being able to listen and react appropriately to the audience is the most [important] takeaway I’ve ever had.”
After regaining the NXT Championship on the inaugural episode following the show’s transition to The CW network, Williams participated in an in-ring segment during the second episode with another beloved main roster star.
Last week’s NXT featured Jey Uso, who joined Trick Williams in the ring to celebrate the new champion, resulting in a lively segment filled with simultaneous chants of ‘Whoop that Trick’ and ‘Yeet!’
