AJ Styles has provided a legitimate update regarding his injury, confirming the specific type he sustained during the October 4 episode of SmackDown.
Although Styles made his return to the ring during this episode, his match against Carmelo Hayes was abruptly halted due to what appeared to be an injury on Styles’ part.
Initially, there were speculations suggesting that an injury storyline was planned for the segment. However, prominent figures such as Sean Ross Sapp, Dave Meltzer, and WWE’s Jackie Redmond have since reported that Styles is indeed facing a real injury.
Taking to Twitter, Styles offered an update on his condition, revealing that he has suffered a Lisfranc injury.
In response to a fan who expressed doubt regarding the authenticity of his injury, Styles tweeted:
“It’s called a Lisfranc injury. Look it up, it sucks! I thought when I took off my boot, I would have a bone sticking out of my foot.”
Addressing a comment that highlighted how this injury has ended the seasons of several NFL running backs, Styles conveyed his situation in a way relatable to Gen Z:
“Bingo, as the kids say….I’m cooked!”
We wish Styles a smooth and speedy recovery.
