The name of a potential new WWE show has seemingly come to light following a recent trademark application filed by the organization.
As WWE prepares for its transition to Netflix in January, President Nick Khan has indicated the possibility of launching additional content beyond the standard weekly shows like Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.
Recent trademark filings may shed light on one such show.
On October 19, WWE registered the titles “WWE Legends & Future Greats” and “WWE LFG” for entertainment services.
Accompanying this application was the following description:
Entertainment services, specifically a continuing program focused on sports and entertainment available through television, satellite, audio, video, web applications, mobile applications, and computer networks; entertainment services that include television productions related to sports, entertainment, and general interest, presented live and via broadcast media such as television and radio, along with internet or commercial online services; entertainment services entailing the production and exhibition of live professional wrestling events broadcast through media, including television and radio, as well as internet or commercial online platforms; entertainment services featuring ongoing reality-based television series, presented live and through broadcast media like television and radio, as well as via the internet or commercial online services; offering entertainment and sports news and information through a global computer network or commercial online service; entertainment services providing information and news about sports, entertainment, and general interest via live broadcasts and through media like television and radio, as well as the internet or commercial online services; supplying information on sports, entertainment, and general interest through an online community portal; maintaining a website focused on sports, entertainment, and general interest; fan club services that include organizing events for fan club members, promoting member interest and involvement, and creating an online community forum for members; offering online newsletters in the field of sports entertainment; maintaining online journals, such as blogs, concerning sports entertainment; educational and entertainment services providing ongoing multimedia programs in general human interest, distributed across various platforms and transmission media; offering entertainment information regarding current television programs via a global computer network; and producing television and multimedia programs.
Khan has explicitly stated that a “behind the scenes documentary” is set to debut on Netflix in the near future.
While there is no confirmation that this new title pertains to that documentary, we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
