On the October 14 episode of WWE Raw, a tag team underwent significant changes upon their return from an injury hiatus.
WWE Raw kicked off a tournament aimed at determining the new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championship. Currently, the titles are held by Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, who have not defended them frequently during their reign.
In the tournament’s opening match, the Alpha Academy’s Akira Tozawa and Otis were scheduled to face a mystery team. When the team finally appeared, it was revealed to be Erik and Ivar, now once again known as the War Raiders, returning to their original name from their NXT days, rather than their previous moniker, the Viking Raiders.
The team showcased several modifications to their presentation, including new graphics and a return to their classic entrance theme. However, notable was the absence of a former member.
Valhalla (Sarah Logan), the team’s previous manager, was not present as she is currently out due to pregnancy. In a personal announcement, Valhalla and Erik, a real-life married couple, shared that they are expecting their second son in November 2024.
It remains uncertain if Valhalla will rejoin the War Raiders upon her return to television.
